Home Mission About Events Contact Us Mission The mission of the group is to provide networking opportunities for professional women in commercial real estate, finance and related industries working in the suburban Boston area. The group will host periodic events in suburban locations (Rte. 128/Metrowest) designed to accomplish the following goals: Assist members in broadening their personal networks, build meaningful relationships with other women professionals working in the suburbs, and make business referrals Provide a forum for the discussion of issues of interest to women professionals The group’s events strive to be welcoming, entertaining and informative and include an educational component on topics relevant to women professionals. The group seeks to attract both women entrepreneurs and professional women working for companies located in the suburban Boston area. Members are encouraged to invite contacts they have with other suburban professional women in an effort to broaden the group’s networking and business referral opportunities. About Joan Parsons Joan is a senior partner at Riemer & Braunstein, LLP. Her practice focuses on real estate and real estate finance, representing major national and regional financial institutions over the course of her career. Her experience includes the representation of financial institutions which provide financing for office, retail, industrial and multi-family properties, hotels and mixed-use development projects, both locally and nationally. She frequently consults with and advises lending syndicates in all types of financial matters, including structure, collateral enhancement and covenant requirements as well as agency and co-lender rights and remedies. Joan has been active in CREW Boston (formerly known as NEWiRE) for many years. She is a past president of the group, which currently includes over 500 commercial real estate professionals. August 17, 2016 Our summer event included a golf clinic for golfers of all levels. Barrie Bruce Golf Schools led an instructional golf clinic at the Country Club of Billerica, followed by a networking reception sponsored by Riemer & Braunstein LLP. May 5, 2016 Our Spring lunch event, Proactive Planning Promotes Progress”, featured a presentation by Mary Ellen DeWinter of Distinct Solutions Group. The luncheon was held at The Bancroft in Burlington, MA. December 14, 2015 A discussion of education and healthcare resources in the area, followed by a networking lunch at Middlesex Meetinghouse in Billerica. December 9 & 10, 2015 Suburban Professional Women’s Network was an Exhibitor at the 2015 Massachusetts Women’s Conference in Boston. June 11, 2015 University Station is an exciting new mixed-use project located adjacent to the Route 128 Commuter Rail/Amtrak Station. It features retail, restaurants, luxury apartments, a Life Time Athletic club and a memory care facility. New England Development presented a program on the Project, followed by a walking tour of the retail site and lunch. April 15, 2015 iRobot is a worldwide leader in robotics, designing and building robots for both home use and defense and security purposes. This event was a unique opportunity to tour iRobot’s Cool Stuff Museum and view their robots in action. After the tour, attendees gathered to network while sharing a complimentary lunch at the adjacent café. December 2, 2014 Stephanie Cronin, Executive Director of the Middlesex 3 Coalition, and Cindy Frené, President of TransAction Associates, Inc. spoke about Middlesex 3 and its new transportation initiative. Middlesex 3 is an innovative regional partnership of nine Middlesex County Communities formed for the purpose of strengthening and growing economic development in the region. September 9, 2014 Paint Nite Plus: an evening of networking and painting replete with appetizers and refreshments to fuel the fun. The evening began with a networking hour facilitated by hosts Sue Davis and Joan Parsons of Riemer & Braunstein. All attendees then had the opportunity to pursue their artistic vision with a two hour, step-by-step group painting lesson. March 13, 2014 A luncheon program featuring Ilene Fischer, CEO and Founder of WomenLEAD, Inc. Ilene spoke about her exciting new company WomenLEAD, which seeks to advance women as global leaders. Ilene shared her career path, the challenges facing women entrepreneurs and her ideas for advancing women in leadership positions. September 24, 2013 Our original, kickoff event introducing the Suburban Professional Women’s Network, formed to provide a platform for professional women working in the Route 128/Metro West suburbs to broaden their networks and refer business to each other. A luncheon program entitled Business Development Tips and Tricks” was presented by Susan Shelby, President and CEO of Rhino Public Relations.
